This is a good setup checklist for when you arrive at camp. Forest River RV publishes quite a few helpful checklists, and we are always wanting you make you the experts in the campground, so we want to share as much information as possible. As always, you will modify this for your own use, but this is a really good arrival checklist to build from.
At the campsite, there will be basic steps to setting up your RV. See the Owner’s Manual for detailed instructions but the following is an abbreviated overview of these basic steps:
- Choose a level location near hook-ups.
- Make sure house battery disconnect is ON.
- Safely level the RV.
- Set the parking brake (Motorized Only).
- Chock the wheels to keep the RV stable.
- Disconnect your Tow Vehicle (Towables).
- If equipped, lower the stabilizing jacks.
- Connect the water hose to external source.
- Verify waste tank gate valves are CLOSED.
- Connect the flexible sewer hose to RV.
- Attach sewer hose to dump station inlet.
- Set up sewer support system.
- Turn ON the LP gas.
- OPEN the entrance step.
- Extend slide rooms and awning(s).
- Turn main 120VAC breaker OFF.
- Connect the power cord to shore power.
- Set thermostat to desired temperature.
- OPEN a roof vent and turn on the fan.
- Turn ON the refrigerator.
- Set water heater bypass to NORMAL.
- Verify water heater tank is full of water.
- Turn ON the water heater.
- Connect television coax cables.
- If applicable, raise television antenna.
- Turn ON signal amplifier if necessary.
- Set up remaining features as needed.
